Taboo Subject?

This is something that should be talked about more than it is. Why does it make me nervous to talk about climate change? It’s like it’s a taboo subject, but it shouldn’t be. It is not something political. Both parties should care. It is not something that we should “believe in” or “agree with.” Climate change is real, it is science, and it is happening. The evidence is endless.
Why wouldn’t we try to make the best outcome for our future and the generations to come? Why wouldn’t we strive to take care of our earth and make it a better place? Why do people and politicians dismiss it like it’s nothing? Some politicians care more about the oil industry and profit, therefore their supporters agree with them or they don’t take the time to understand just how crucial it is. Do your research.
It’s our responsibility as human beings to take initiative and educate ourselves on what’s really happening and on how we can make a difference for the future. There are numerous reliable websites that you can look at and there’s organizations that you can contribute to that will make a difference. Watch documentaries, read articles, change your lifestyle, and act. Every little bit counts, but right now we need to go all in to be able to give us the best possible chance. The most substantial thing we can do right now is vote for people who care about the climate. Four more years of doing absolutely nothing can be detrimental for our planet.

It’s so easy to sit back and act like nothing is happening and to think that we will evolve, but our earth has never had this amount of fossil fuels and CO2 emissions. It is only going to get worse unless real change happens. Change is hard, but it can be beautiful and make the world a better place. It would’ve been so easy for me to just not post this, but this needs to be talked about like the existential crisis that it is.
